FEN DITTON GALLERY - NEW YOUNG ARTISTS

FEN DITTON GALLERY - NEW YOUNG ARTISTS

Felix Higham The Salisbury Ring

Fen Ditton Gallery opens  tomorrow with a humdinger of an autumn show entitled One Year On. Gallerist in chief Hannah presented the first show of the season with a collection of new works by  her secretly favourite category - emerging artists.

They have actually emerged once, a year ago with a show Voices of Drawing and  tomorrow night will display the work of Felix Higham and Otis Blease who went down so well first time . Added to these will be paintings by Joanna Cohn with a slew of figurative etchings as well as works by Johannah Muriel and two established artists Norman Ackroyd and Rebecca Jewell.

So sparkily typical of this important go-ahead gallery Hannah has begun a Young Collectors’ Club designed to introduce a new tranche of art lovers to the tricky business of selection. And on Thursday 15th the Club will have the chance of a ‘curatorial tour’ with Hannah the founder - presumably more information, some expert insights on the nature of modern art.

It is not long since the Fen Ditton Gallery were marooned by bridge works on the River Cam - now it’s proper destination with a gorgeous riverbank bike ride thrown in.

Exhibition opening times:
Wednesday 14th September: 6 - 8pm
Thursday 15th September: 6 - 8pm (Young Collectors' members)

Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th September: 10am - 5pm
