Cambridge Drawing Society Autumn exhibition

Finding A Way Through by Katy Bailey.

The celebrated Drawing Society opens in the centre of Cambridge at the Pitt Building . Last year’s star contributor Katy Bailey scooped the most popular painting from last year . Her wonderful evocation of the Fen landscape is a rival to any art of this scene, So valued is Katy Bailey’s work, her painting fronts the poster for this year’s show.

My visit there was a tour des horizons of art int the region..I loved the work of Carol Whitehouse in the competitive - but always popular - world of flair painting. Svetlana Balbekova to my eye with a wonder simple still life French Bread. I loved Kathma Dawson’s Solitary a bleak but beautiful piece and Dan Walmesley’s memory of Greece was super, familiar but unusual.

The exhibition is a Must See, you can vote for your favourite and the venue is only a swerve off the High Street

This post will be updated as the week goes on - but hurry down - 10 -4 pm to the regions favourite show.
