EACHO is an orchestra packed with accomplished performers under the baton of brilliant young conductor Dominic Grier. Next Saturday 28th sees them at West Road Concert Hall with an extraordinarily delightful programme to include Mozart with his tragically last symphony the Jupiter
The concert opens with Prokofiev’s Classical’ symphony, a brilliant homage to Hayden and performed by Anna Hashimoto, Anna has worked with conductors such as Vladimir Ashkenazy - and lauded with every possible prize as ,she makes her way through the world of music – this Japanese virtuoso has already thrilled audiences round the world
Mozart’s final composition will delight any audience. This would be his last - he could not have known this - and the Jupiter title was not given to it by him - yet Mozart’s memorable work will surely provide a luscious feast of precision playing and joyous expression..
Muzio Clementi’s symphonic works are less well known and it is a bold step to re-introduce his sonata here. Once popular in the early 1800s his work is seldom heard today but the sparkling D major overture is bound to surprise and delight .
