The Cambridge Drawing Society’s ambitious and spectacular exhibition has thrown open its doors with a brilliant array of talent. A modest band of Members are at the core of this superb show. Itzts fortuitous choice of venue The Pitt Building ( down KIng’s Parade and keep going ) makes a grand venue for the art in the city. Not just paintings ( and so many of them ) but drawings and sculpture. The sunshine windows and excellent presentation and inspired placement make for an august quality event.

Bold to say so, but the show has more daring and even more variety than the last. This year the exhibits began with the Vox pop winner Patrick Wilkins , his picture voted in as the People’s favourite in ‘25. But what is so enjoyable is the range of interpretation and the skill in the work. Exhausting though the show is, you can’t quite stop looking around the lovely floorspace and stopping to contemplate just how much flair Cambridge artists can demonstrate.
